Audi mobile

This is what Audi’s future car keys are to become. It’s part of the Audi metroproject concept and is called the Audi mobile device. This mobile devices works as an access system for the vehicle and all its features like the mobile phone, navigation system, audio and video player. The menu is based on the interface found in the high spec Audi models. The mobile device sports both WiFi and 3G technologies. The handset also works as a mobile phone, MP3 player, vehicle control system and input device for the car’s navigation system. It can also be used to turn the heater system, open/ close the car and even store images taken by the Audi’s on-board cameras. So here’s what it could do. The car can now take pictures of a probable intruder and send you a mug shot via WiFi and later switch to the car’s tracker to show you it’s current location. The touch sensitive screen will also understand handwriting. Does this mean car manufacturers will soon create their own mobile phones with car access capabilities. Check out for more pictures after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
