    Largest twister in Benz museum

I’m sure most of you’ll have seen the movie Twister and other weather based movies. Have you ever wanted to view it first hand…here’s your chance. Get to the Mercedes Benz museum in Germany to witness the world’s largest artificial tornado. It’s 34.43 meters, that’s about 113 feet tall and contains approx 28 tonnes of air. It takes 144 jets about seven minutes to produce this tornado. A low-pressure column in the center of the tornado effectively sucks in any smoke and carries it up to vents in the roof allowing it to escape. Carbon dioxide is sprayed to the bottom of the tornado to make it visible. Guess what! its got a Guinness Book of Records certification too. I wonder what Mercedes has to do with artificial tornadoes. Probably they could power automobiles in the future!

          Playstation 3

Sony has finally heard our prayers and confirmed a more affordable version of its high definition console for £299. It’s a 40GB version and is expected to release in the UK next week. Unfortunately there are some feature cuts too. The new 40GB console will only have 2 USB’s when compared to 4 on the 60GB model. But the worst part is, it isn’t backward compatible with PS2 discs. I guess Sony wants us to replace all our existing PS2 games with Ps3s. Also another downgrade is lack of support for multiple card readers as it did on the 60GB version. Price watchers! This is the one for you! But for those who wanted it all here’s the good news!!! Read the rest of this entry »

            Spaceport-New Mexico

Airports for space crafts were part of a dreams of fantasy. Well somethings come true and this is one of them. The New Mexico Spaceport Authority recently unveiled designs for the world’s first public launching and landing site for space vehicles, Spaceport America. This is where the Virgin Galactic will take off! Located in the middle of New Mexico desert the spaceport is to include a passenger terminal and a hangar big enough for seven apace crafts. UK architecture firm Foster + Partners and San Francisco-based engineering shop URS have been working on the project and is expected to complete it in 2010 costing a cool $225 million. So pack your bags and get ready for the vacation of a lifetime. Next destination: Mars. I wonder what the prizes are like to travel to space? Check out an artist’s impression of the interiors after the jump.

                Halo 3

Halo 3 could be one of the biggest releases this year for Microsoft. BBC’s got the numbers to prove it! Guess what! It has set the record for the most revenue earned in 24 hours by an entertainment product, topping figures set by film Spiderman 3 and this is only in the United States, the count in UK hasn’t been included.
