I once read some where that NASA had spent quite a fortune on research creating a ink based pen that works in space. I’m not sure of the sources, but here’s one I can assure you can get your hands on…if you like the concept. Its a pen that uses no ink and writes on most typical papers we use today! Its a stainless steel pen about 8cm long and the ‘nib’ is a solid piece of metal. Grand Illusions has shown an example of what it would look like when used on a normal paper.
The solid metal nib is made of a metal alloy, that leaves a mark on a typical paper. If used on papers that are used in printers and photocopiers, the pen leaves a mark similar to that of a pencil. Unfortunately it cant be erased, but at the same time does not smudge too. Since there is no ink..the life period of this pen is considerably more( say about 25 years) than any ink based pen or a pencil and for that matter does not need sharpening either!
For those of you, who want to make an impression, with a pen that doesn’t use ink and like having gadgets that defies a normal person’s imagination, this is the one!
The pen comes in a very smart, circular, silver coloured metal presentation tin, and would make a very unusual gift.
