Jaguar unveiled the XF Sedan 2009 in Frankfurt yesterday. Headed by styling director Ian Callum, the new Jaguar is loaded with some great features and one of them was created with the help of Apple. The Jaguars call it the Jaguar Drive Selector.
Within an arm’s reach on the center console, the drive selector was created to replace the Jaguar J-gate shifter. It features a knob that rises from its flush position when the car is started. Twist the knob to engage the six-speed automatic transmission. Now imagine controlling the gears with a knob. Just behind the drive selector, we find the electronic parking brake, stability control and a Automatic speed limiter buttons. Now what is the Automatic speed limiter? It limits the car to a preset speed, best set below the maximum speed. This should stop the speed camera’s from clicking away each time you pass by.
