nano projectors

With mobiles growing to be the content providers of the future, there are a lot of companies developing prototypes for the nano projector, but an Israeli company Explay is the first to display it and come up with an actual release date. Explay introduces the oio- the projecting phenomenon small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and uncontested liberator of mobile content! The oio can be used with any multimedia device. All you need to do is bring the content and the oio will project it!

Explay’s oio, looks about the size of an iPod nano and packs some great features, was recently demonstrated to a press conference at SID 2007 in California and has given a release date of 2008.This revolutionary device is based on a nano projector engine that can eventually be embedded in many different consumer devices such as cellular phones, media players and so on!

The oio is initially going to be produced as a standalone unit, but it will soon be embedded in mobile devices. It boasts a 40″ image size with its laser projection delivering an eye-safe, always-focused, full-colour picture. Explay claims the oio to work perfectly in lit and dark rooms and is low on power consumption. The standalone unit will project for 2 hours on a battery charge. Back in the days we were amazed when the doc shrunk his kids in the movie, Hone, I shrunk the kids! Now its for real. They are shrinking everything around us.
