The 160 Megapixel shooter

I was impressed when the 17 megapixels cameras were announced. I was under the assumption that these numbers would gradually increase with every new model. But to my surprise I stumbled upon a camera that just blew all my thoughts. Guess what, this camera’s got an image resolution of 7,500 pixels vertically and 21,250 horizontally which creates an image of 160 million pixels.
It’s best known as the Seitz 6×17 digital. This wide screen beast can create a 160 Megapixel image in
just a second thanks to a very high read-outspeed of 300MB per second, thats 100x faster than any existing back. You can capture action images thanks to the minimum exposure of 1/2000sec (per pixel). Now that gives you quite a range of shots including low light photography. Other benefits of the Seitz are anti-blooming, 16 bit per channel (48-bit RGB) colour depth, low noise and a dynamic range of 1:2,600. When shooting directly into the sun, the sensor’s anti-blooming feature reduces glare and allows a clean passage between highlights and lowlights. Do check out their website for more information.
